Rakhine State Cultural Museum is situated at Sittway in Rakhine State. The four storied museum was inauguratd in 19th February, 1996. In front of the museum, stands a symbol for Rakhine nationals a Statwe called Byala.
In the museum, the models of ancient Rakhine capitals are shown. Moreover, silver coin and colourful glazed materials of Vesali period and Myauk-U period, stone sculptures of vesali period and Lay-Myo period copper. Plate inscription, terra-cotta inscription, bell inscription, palm leaf manuscript binder inscription enshring miniature zedi, brass bowl, glazed pot of Myauk-U period.( AD-15th Century ) are also displayed.

And then, you can observe the traditional Rakhine musical instruments such as crocodile-shaped harp and xylophone, various kinds of flutes, two sided drum called ( ) one-side drum and other utensils such as lacquer ware alm food carrier of Myauk-U period which was used to carry the food for the monks of the monasteries, Rakhine Rraditional tray for offering food to the Buddha, wooden alm bowl and lacquer ware alm bowl and porcelains of Mrauk-U period of Mrauk- U period are also displayed.And there are stone sculptures from Shon-Gyaw village a village justs miles from Myauk, smoking pipes excavated from ancient Rakhine capitals and rural villages.

There are also display are stone curving of Porch-decoration Kyauk-ta-lone ( AD 16th Century, Kyauk Phyu ) and other earthern materials. You can also study Arnanda Sand store inscription written in the Danyawaddy alphabet. The stone inscriptions about King Annada Snada and his fore fathers was written in AD 8th Century.
There are also the statue of princes Po Wah, daughter of King Min Bar and statues of other ethnic groups such as Myoe, Thet, Rakhine dynet net and Kamee.

Afterciving these exhibits you can see the custumers, various kinds of hair styles of those days, distinctive fillet worn by royalty, traditional wedding ceremony. And you can also observe the scale models of the famous titokkanthein temple, Shittaung Pagoda and a statue depicting a Rkhine traditional sport called "Kyin". That’s why Rakhine State cultural museum is a place where you can study the histonis Rakhine cultural from the past, to the present day.
