Pagodas in Yangon( Shwedagon Pagoda )

The Golden doomed Shwedagon is the most spectacular of the scenic attractions of Myanmar. Towering admidst the panorama of Yangon, it is also a radiant of charming landmark. The glistening gold stupa of the Shwedagon continues to dominate Yangon as perhaps no other single structure does in any other city in the world.

Shwedagon has inestimable treasure of over 5,000 diamonds over 2,000 rubies and other countless, priceless gems over 2,500 years old.
All this is mounted on and above 10 meter(33 ft) Htee (Umbrella), built upon seven gold-plated bars, decorated with 10.65 golden and silver bells.
Ascend to the Pagoda is by electric lift on the Southern side, elevators on the western side and three concrete stairways on east, south and north sides respectively.
