The second defile of the Ayeyarwady is form Nesinsa Khan village to Thinbawin village in Bhamo township and is 14 miles long. If you look at the entrance it looked as if there was no entry and also as if the water flow has stopped. On the left of the 2nd defile is the U Daung mountain and on the right Hsawah mountain falling each other. The mountains are thick with green forests where birds of all kinds are inhabiting and there are also many animals. |

The narrowest section of the 2nd defile is 100 yards. One outstanding factor of the 2nd defile is that, on the right bank lies a rock mountain. It is called Natmyethna taung. The embankment of that rock mountain is so very smooth as if it was neatly cut. The walls are so steep and over 1,000 ft high and the width is about 800 ft. On the walls of the right stone embankment there lies a small pagoda. |

Boatmen plying up and down the Ayayarwady river said the 2nd defile is the most beautiful place and most outstanding. Its outstanding feature is the parrot beak mountain. This parrot beak mountain is the natural mountain which the boatmen painted in multi colors to look like a real parrot. The 2nd defile which is among the three narrow turns of the Ayeyarwady which stems from the confluence of Maykha and Malikha and which lies at up stream of the Ayeyarwady River is one of the prettiest places of the Ayeyarwady which mother nature has created. |
