Sinthe Diversion Dam locates ten miles lower Sinthe Dam in Tatkone Township, Yemethin District, Mandalay Division.It was inaugurated on the 14th September, 1999. The dam is 930 feet long and 20 feet high. The reinforced 7 gates are each ten feet wide and 8 feet high for outlet of sand and there are ten sluice gates each five feet wide and four feet high. |

Water supplied from Sinthe Dam could be irrigated to farmlands through Sinthe Diversion Weir by right main channel. It can irrigate over 32,000 acres of farmland and over 5,000 acres of cropland.The Sinthe Diversion Weir irrigates water not only from the weir but also irrigates water supplied by the main dam.The diversion weir can contribute throughout the year so that farmers can cultivate double and triple croppings. |
