The University that will Conquer the Space

For the emergence of a modern and developed nation, the basic foundation is to produce highly qualified human resources, intellectuals, intelligentsia and technicians.

Therefore, the Ministry of Science and Technology opened the Myanmar Aerospace Egineering University in Meiktila, Mandalay Division, on 1st August 2002.

The purpose of establishing this University is to produce qualified aerospace engineers within the country, to conduct academic and research activities in various fields of aerospace engineering for the continued development of the country and to contribute to the building of a modern developed nation by developing aerospace engineering.

In the first batch, the students must get totally 345 marks and above five subjects in the matriculation examination 2001, pass the entrance test and only males will be admitted. The second batch applicants must acquire 402 marks and above six subjects at 2002 matriculation examination and they will attend the University in December if they pass the entrance test.

MAEU is going to offer five Bachelor of Engineering degrees. They are:-
1. B.E ( Aerospace- Propulsion and Flight Vehicles )
2. B.E ( Aerospace- Avionics )
3. B.E ( Aerospace- Electrical Systems and Instrumentation )
4. B.E ( Aerospace- Space System Engineering ) and
5. B.E ( Aerospace- Fuel and Propellant Engineering

Main branches of Postgraduate diplomas are in the fields of:-
1. Space Technology
2. Aerospace Materials Technology
3. Airport Engineering and
4. Airport Management

Undergraduate diplomas are in the fields of:-
1. Engine of Airframe Technology
2. Avionic Technology and
3. Electrical and Instrumentation Technology

Meanwhile, the three kinds of Bachelor degree have already opened and the rest will be opened gradually. To get a B.E degree, a student has to attend a five-year course and in the first year, they have to study solid foundation of basic sciences. Specially designed subjects are Engineering Physics, Engineering chemistry, Engineering Mathematics, and Computer Science. Besides, a good knowledge of English is needed to produce engineers of International Standard. After the first year examination, considering their marks and scores and their preference, they will be allowed in the second year to take the specializations. In the second and third academic years, the students will be taught some basic engineering subjects. In the fourth and fifth years, deeper and more useful engineering subjects will be conducted. During school holidays, Industrial Training will be taken for one and a half months.

Thus, aerospace engineering involves a variety of highly complex theories and sophisticated technologies, inspiring young people who have talent and confidence and who like innovations and challenges.

The Myanmar Aerospace Engineering University will be one that can produce qualified engineers who will conquer the space like to the motto To produce Highly Qualified Engineers through Quality Education.
