The Chindwin river in Myanmar is more than (600) miles along and there are a lot of historical evidences and interesting tradings along the Chindwin river-side.At the east bank of Chindwin river 14 miles far from Nyaung-Pin Gyi village ,you can see “Po Win Taung” where there are over 400,000 carved ancient Buddha Images. |

Po Win Taung is famous for the Buddha Images and ancient sculptures carved on the mountain cliff.These stone-sculptures are said to have been sculptured on the rock-face between AD 14 to 16.The most prominent cave in Po Win Taung is the Queen’s cave which was carved to look like a palace. |

The ceiling inside the Cave-Pagoda is found to have Myanma traditional fresco-paintings depicting history as well as Jataka stories. Proceeding from there, you can observe various Buddha sculptures inside the caves along the cliff.Moreover, All of us see embossed floral and fauna designs on the walls of hard-rock. |

After an observation of Po Win Taung, another place to visit is the Shwe Ba Taung which is well-known for its 14 A.D handiworks.You will find Shwe Ba Taung similar to Po Win Taung with its illustrious Buddha Images which have been carved on the walls of rock. You will be fascinated by the artistically carved figures of stone-elephants, waterpots and frogs. |
