Myanmar is well-known as the land of festivals and one of them is Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Lighting Festival and part of the Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival is Hot-air Balloons competitions, which had been held for 50 years now. And Taunggyi Lighting Festival and Hot-air Balloons competitions are held at night as well as in the day.

Tazaungdaing Lighting Festival at Taunggyi traditionally features hot-air balloons launching competitions. Experts join the night events which may be divided into two categories. The first one is nick named Seinnapan meaning Diamond earings which emphasis beauty, the second one is nick named Nya Myee Gyi that means the great nights lights. It emphasis grandeur.
