University of Veterinary Science situated in Yae-Zin near Pyin-Ma-Na, 254 miles away from Yangon is the University that produces high qualified veterinarians. In the Department of English, there are many advantages that the students can improve their listening and speaking skills by listening to the recorded materials on tapes in the language laboratory. Moreover, they can use the language in different situations for different communicative purposes. There are a lot of advantages and the teaching is very effective.
Department of Pathology and Microbiology
The students can get over all knowledge about the micro-organisms concerned in veterinary field by studying Veterinary Microbiology and about the abnormal changes in body tissues and organs produced by any disease conditions by studying Veterinary Pathology. The Veterinary Public Health in meat hygiene subject gives the knowledge concerning with the public health in parts of the transmission of animal disease to human, a production of hygiene meat for public.
Department of Anatomy
The main objective of teaching anatomy is to make the students understand the basic normal functions and form and structure of the animal before they come across with the abnormal form in structures.
Department of Parasitology
This subject supports the clinical studies, e.g. medicine subject in final year student. This is because we have to support medicine department in diagnosing the animal diseases because animal diseases are being caused by various pathological agents. The department emphasized the worms which means parasite, internal parasites, some of them relies and digs on the external parasites. Therefore, unless a veterinary surgeon known what is worm, what is the parasite they can’t identify or they can diagnose the animal disease exactly. Therefore, we have to support the medicine department to be able to find out which sort of the parasite has been infestation and causing the disease for the animals.
Multimedia Presentation Room
The multimedia presentation room was established in May 2002. It is the age of information, computer become essential teaching aids for modern education. Without teaching computer, this education will be away from the latest technology.
Department of Physiology and Biochemistry
There are three layers of subjects, the basic layer is pre-clinical, another layer is para-clinical and the final year layer is clinical subject. As veterinarian, we have to know the normal condition of the animals. Animals cannot speak that’s why we have to understand them just looking at them. So, firstly we have to know their normal nature, normal physiology that means normal function of the body of the animals. Another thing is to know their nutrition, how much we have to feed them, what we have to take care of them, how we have to learn from them. So, the three subjects are very important to know about the normal nature of the animals. Thus, whenever there is any change in their normal condition, we have to know that they become sick. So, our subject is the basic level to know the nature of the animal.So, our subject is basic but I think it’s very important
The Sport Activities of the Students
In this university, Central Committee of the Sports and Physical Education has been formed and under which there were eleven sub-committees for different disciplines like football, table tennis, cricket-ball, tennis ball like that. This committee has drawn the school calendar for every academic year and we have encouraged the students who take part in different activities of the sports. Now, you will see it is the inter-class activity for the cricket-ball contest for our university. It is one of the activities of our school education.Livestock breeding industry is not only an economic entity but also a science related to the welfare of human health. The University of Veterinary Science which has upgraded the science of veterinary has been educative for our audience.
