The Yangon City Development Committee starting from 1989 has endeavoured for the all around development of Yangon City by extending and renovating the roads and constructing modern high raise buildings. The YCDC has also refreshed the city environs by carrying out sanitation works; greening programmes establishing recreational parks for its residents.

View Point Amusement Park, Shukhinthar is one of them. It is located on the bank of Pazundaung creek where it meets at the junction of Yangon River and Bago River in Dawbon Township, Yangon Division. It is composed of 20 acres. The facility opened in 1996. It's replete with 20 game centers. It has standard swimming pool, adventure in rapids and recreational boating activities. So the city residence, local travelers from far and near as well as foreign tourists can enjoy the recreational and amusement facilities provided by the YCDC.
