Wardaw sluice gate in Naung Don Island, Maubin Township in Ayeyawady Division, lower Myanmar was opened on March 25, 1999.The Wardaw sluice gate has six doors each measuring 6 feet by 8 feet for inflow and outflow of water. It irrigates up to 15,000 acres of farmland.It is one of the sluice gates built for reclaiming wetlands in Nayungdon Island.Naungdon island is kind of wetland area. In rainy season, the area is flooded and in summer, it becomes completely dry. |

For the success of wetland farm production, sluice gates are needed to control in and outflow of water.Operating this sluice gate, it gives support development of farm production in Ayeyawady Division, which is contribution to achieving the nation’s economy. |
