Greening Wrok in Yinmabin Township

The Dry Zone Greening Department of the Ministry of Forestry is implementing the greening work in central Myanmar including Yinmabin Township , Monywa District, Sagaing Division.

Yinmabin Township is situated at 17 miles fur from western bank of chindwin River and above 400 feet from sea level.
Four major works cultivation of forest plantation conservation of natural forests, extension of using wood substitute fuel and measure for sufficient water supply are being implemented for greening of Yinmabin Region.

755 acres of forest plantation have been cultivated from ( 1994-95 ) to ( 1998-99 ) in Yinmabin Township. The forest plantation cultivated yearly in the Township are as follows.

The Forest plantation include trees to be used for firewood in village and plantation for mountain ranges and others.Now, you can see the forest plantations being cultivated near Phoewin Taung village since 1998. This is firewood trees plantation cultivated since 1998.
Altogether 25 acres of forest plantation have been cultivated in 13 villages and other 3 places 30 acres of forest plantation for greening of mountain ranges have also been cultivated in Phoe Win Taung forest Reserve.
Deforestation can destroy geographical condition and climate of the region. So, we need to preserve the natural environment. Natural forest conservation activities have been carried out in 500 acres at Phoewin Taung forest Reserve.
Similarly, forests conservation work has been carried out in 985 acres of Ingyin Taung forest Reserve. Stoves and 5000 fire-wood substitute briquettes could be distributed monthly as a part of firewood substitute fuel using work.
In implementing the water supply projects in Yinmabin Township, 3 lakes were dug within the period of nine arid zone greening project as well as 2 lakes in 1998. Now, you can see the lake namely “Green and Pleasant” Emerald Lake”
Nowadays, Yinmabin Township becomes green and pleasant because of the cooperative attempt being camied out by the Government and it’s people.
