Records show that leopards are wide spread over the whole Myanmar. They are more common in Central Myanmar. The general colour is a dirty yellow with black rosettes over the whole body. Rosettes on the front and back consist of 2-3 spots; while those on the head, legs, feet and under parts are single. The insides of the rosettes are more yellow than elsewhere. The back of the ears is black except for the tips which are white. They are usually single and hunt deer, monkeys, porcupine, birds etc for their food. They sometimes kill man and some become man-eaters. |
